This week at least three different groups of students are donating their time and energies to do storm cleanup duty in the area. Fifty five college students from the Georgia Institute of Technology arrived this week; and another fifty from Bowling Green, NC.
The largest group so far is a group of three bus loads of students, 137 in all, who are giving up their Christmas vacations to lend their time and assistance
The students are from three high schools in Michigan - Northwest High School, Grass Lake High School and Hanover-Horton, in Jackson County. They each raised the money they'd need for the trip - more than $50,000 total.
Let's hope they get a chance to visit the beach as a reward for their hard work and initiative.
