Twenty-five vacationers, visitors, snowbirds, and Dauphin Island residents volunteered their time and effort at last Saturday's Dauphin Island Property Owner's Association January volunteer day. In a matter of a few hours the group tidied up the Isle Dauphine Golf Course's back nine. Wielding rakes, shovels, weed eaters, and mowers they manicured the course to near perfection.
When it was all said and done everyone sat down to a pizza lunch provided by Circle K. Assorted desserts were provided by still more volunteers. All-in-all everyone had a great time socializing and putting in a few hours' work, and enjoying the sense of satisfaction that can only come from volunteering your time for a good cause.
The Isle Dauphine Golf Course opened for nine-hole play last month.
The Dauphin Island Property Owners Association volunteer event takes place the second Saturday of every month with a new and different project each month.
