The 49th Annual Roy Martin Young Angler's Tournament will be held this weekend on Dauphin Island.

This tournament is held in conjunction with the Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo. The Roy Martin Young Angler's Tournament is designed for young anglers under the age of 16. It is the oldest and largest fishing tournament of its kind in the US.

The tournament will host competitions in 31 categories: amberjack, barracuda, black drum, blackfish, blue runner, bluefish, bonito, catfish, cobia, croaker, dolphin, flounder, gafftopsail catfish, ground mullet, grouper, jack crevalle, king mackerel, ladyfish, oyster fish, pigfish, pinfish, red snapper, sea robin, shark, sheepshead, spadefish, Spanish mackerel, speckled trout, triggerfish, white trout and whiting.

Fishing conditions during the event are expected to be significantly above average, so the competition should be lively and fun for all.
