Dear Neighbors,
Many islanders have experienced losses in the past two years from which are still recovering. On Wednesday evening, one island family has experienced a second devastating loss in a little more than a month, made all the more tragic because of the time of year of its occurence. Police officer answers call to fire at her own home
DAUPHIN ISLAND The call over the radio of a house on fire turned out to be anything but routine for Dauphin Island police officer Janet Sweetser.
Sweetser received the call of the fire at 1118 Cadillac Avenue while she was on patrol just before midnight Wednesday night. She quickly realized that it was her home address.
