While others were making up pranks to play on people yesterday, our Mobile area kayaking photojournalist friend Rob Nykvist was out on the Little Catfish Bayou taking some great photos.
Many of the small tributaries of Little Catfish Bayou had beautiful displays of Butterweed, aka Ragwort, aka Groundsel, aka Senecio glabellus. ... Today it felt like I was paddling in a beautiful garden.
Not sure where exactly is the Little Catfish Bayou? It's north of Mobile in a town called Satsuma. No, it's not actually in the town, it's... never mind. Just head north of Mobile on 65, get off at Celeste and ask directions.
Rob interrupted this guy's nap briefly for a photo opportunity. Amphibs weren't the only thing Rob caught this trip. Check his journal for yesterday and see for yourself. Fair warning though, if the thought of a spider that eats fish makes you squeemish, read it with one eye closed.
