Celebrate Mardi Gras 2007

For Mardi Gras this year visit Dauphin Island and the Mobile Alabama area.

Did you know is recognized as the first place in America where Mardi Gras was celebrated? Mobile's Mardi Gras revelry goes back all the way to 1703. For over 300 years Mobile has been celebrating Mardi Gras. That's well before New Orleans got into the act.

Mobile's Mardi Gras celebration is known as America's Family Mardi Gras. The entire Mardi Gras schedule is oriented toward fun and enjoyment for the entire family - marching bands, brilliant-colored floats and manned by masked riders festooned in satin and sequins.

Visit Alabama's Gulf Coast and catch some of the traditional beads, moon pies, doubloons and candy thrown to parade viewers. Mobile's America's Family Mardi Gras kicks off with the Krewe De La Dauphine on Dauphin Island at 1pm, Saturday, Jan-20 and ends with several parades on Fat Tuesday, Feb-20 - an entire month of festivities Gulf Coast vacationers don't want to miss!
